Coming to Berkeley without prior exposure to careers in investment banking, management consulting, or investing, I initially felt nervous, overwhelmed, and behind. Walking through Sproul and interacting with students who already seemed fluent in recruiting cycles, technical preparation, and professional expectations made the world of business feel both intimidating and distant.

That perception began to change as I got to know members of the Collegiate Business Association. What stood out immediately was not just how driven and accomplished they were, but how intentionally they invested that ambition in others. From my very first interactions, members consistently went out of their way to help me refine emails, prepare for interviews, and identify opportunities that aligned with my interests. Their excitement for my growth, despite barely knowing me at the time, reflected a culture rooted in collective success rather than individual competition.

That same instinct to elevate one another drew me to CBA’s training program, which provided a structured and rigorous introduction to careers in business. Through the program, I found not only clarity in my professional direction, but also my closest friends and strongest professional relationships—people who push me to be better, hold me to high standards, and whom I expect will be peers, collaborators, and mentors for years to come.

While CBA is deeply committed to professional excellence, it is equally defined by its sense of community. Whether through spontaneous movie nights, shared dinners, trips across the world, or simply spending time together between classes, CBA is a constant presence in my life at Cal. We believe that ambition is most meaningful when it is shared, and that professional achievements matter more when you are surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed. CBA has become my family on campus, and a place where growth—both personal and professional—is celebrated together.

Our Story

Founded in 2021, Collegiate Business Association is a young organization that provides life-changing career development and recruiting support for its members. Our members have broken into a variety of careers, ranging from banking and consulting to product management and software engineering.

As a new member, Collegiate Business Association offers a rigorous training curriculum aimed to prepare students to succeed in their respective career paths. We aim to deliver and develop skills that are relevant and sought after within these competitive industries today.

Collegiate Business Association also aims to be a supportive community of life-long learning and friendship. We take pride in providing a positive social and professional experience for all of our members from college to careers and beyond
