President

Leon Jia

I come from a background with no exposure to careers in business such as investment banking, management consulting, or product management. When I first walked through Sproul as a freshman, I felt nervous, a bit overwhelmed, and extremely underprepared seeing all the successful members in all of the business organizations across campus.

As I learned more about the different organizations and interacted with their members, I found the members of the Collegiate Business Association to be genuine, ambitious, and passionate about wanting to help me find my path in business. I participated in their eight-week training program, where I learned from senior members and alumni and experienced a formal and comprehensive introduction to careers in business. Through this program, I met my best friends and formed my strongest professional relationships with people who will be my colleagues and mentors for life.

Beyond the professional development, the community is what really sets CBA apart. I’ve made my closest friendships and unforgettable memories, and there is genuinely not a single day I do not spend with members of CBA. As important as our careers are, we believe that no accomplishments are truly fulfilling if you are not surrounded by a family to celebrate with, and CBA has truly become my family here at Cal.

Our Story

Founded in 2021, Collegiate Business Association is a young organization that provides life-changing career development and recruiting support for its members. Our members have broken into a variety of careers, ranging from banking and consulting to product management and software engineering.

As a new member, Collegiate Business Association offers a rigorous training curriculum aimed to prepare students to succeed in their respective career paths. We aim to deliver and develop skills that are relevant and sought after within these competitive industries today.

Collegiate Business Association also aims to be a supportive community of life-long learning and friendship. We take pride in providing a positive social and professional experience for all of our members from college to careers and beyond
